ATELIER VOYAGE ~ 48hBüro
Other places, other contexts, other strategies.
48hBüro is a project by atelier voyage, a brazilian-german duo exploring the fields of design within research and research within design. We created 48hBüro as a way to experiment and reflect about the way we work. On this first edition of 48hBüro, we are participating in PUTPUTPUT, a project initiated by students and alumni of the Kunsthochschule Mainz. Within this project, we will install a temporary office at the Rathausplatz in Mainz, between July 10th and 11th from 10am to 6pm. By the end of the second day, we will present the results of our work in a Happy Hour Vernissage.
Engaging with the project’s concept, we ask for input, so that during our performative installation we can generate output. Dialoguing with the projects name, we decided to base our input on language, words. As a way of constraining the variability of results, we limit your input to one word, that should function as an answer to the question we pose.
What are you putting up with right now?
Our output will be a collection of posters, featuring a selection of the collected input. For each poster, we shall draw/construct/conceptualize a different typeface that relates to its content — by the end of the second day we will have an exhibition showcasing the result of our work as well as the process leading to it.

atelier voyage is a brazilian-german duo exploring the fields of design within research and research within design. We started working on self-initiated research projects during our studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz. After graduating we decided to continue our practice and at the same time create studio voyage as a way to establish a commercial practice. Within our commercial work we have a strong focus on typography and lead with a conceptual approach, which we also maintain in our more experimental work as an atelier.
We currently work between Amsterdam (NL) and Mainz (DE).
